Parents, Sterling Math students have two sections they carry: Current Work containing the packets they are working on and Notes/Vocabulary containing notes we may have in class and Frayer model sheets for vocabulary. Students also get tickets back and they should be in one of these sections.
Grade7
We are finishing the review and correction of our Unit 1 Mid-Module assessment today. As we move into the second half we are reviewing multiplication and division of fractions with 2 worksheets to be followed by a ticket tomorrow. Lesson 11: Ratios of Fractions and Their Unit Rates will use the fraction work we are practicing to calculate unit rates. This section of Eureka Module 1 for Grade 7 focuses on the following standards: 7.RP.A.1, 7.RP.A.3, and 7.EE.B.4.
Grade 8
The module is moving to graphing proportional relationships, and interpreting the unit rate as the slope. We are reviewing: units, proportions, unit rates, proportionality constants. We are writing proportions from tables and using the cross-product to solve them. This follows patterns we worked with in Lesson 9 where linear equations were disguised as proportion. Lesson 10: A Critical Look at Proportional Relationships has been the focus both days this week. We will be having a ticket and moving to Lesson 11 Constant Rate.
The Mid-Module assessment will be after Lesson 14 the Graph of a Linear Equation- Horizontal and Vertical Lines. This section of Eureka Module 4 Grade 8 focuses on the standard: 8.EE.B.5
