Student conference letter

Dear House A Families:

Trimester 2 Portfolio Conferences are coming up! We invite you to come to school to share in your child’s learning from Trimester 2. We will be offering two types of conference formats this spring. On Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 3:30pm - 7:00pm,  we will be offering traditional sit-down conferences with student, teacher and parent participation. On Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 3:30pm - 7:00pm we will be offering student-led Conferences. Please choose what best meets the needs of your family and your student.

In both sets of conferences, opportunities are available to discuss learning, growth, successes, strengths, and areas for improvement. Goals and challenges of the past trimester and upcoming trimester will be discussed.

The format for our sit-down conferences will be for parents, the student, and all teachers to sit down together for twenty minutes with just one family attending at a time.

In our student-led conferences, students will be presenting a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates his or her learning. Students will present their personal learning plans. There will be a number of students presenting at the same time at different tables and teachers will be available for questions.

We look forward to seeing you at our conferences. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions, comments or concerns. Please feel free to contact your student's advisory teacher with any additional needs.

Sincerely,
The Teachers of House A
