2014-2015 School Year Information
Hello Parents and Students!
This summer we are requiring students to read at least 2 Dorothy Canfield Fisher (DCF) books. One book, Wonder by R.J. Palacio, provided for you free of charge, to be picked up on or after August 1st at the Milton Public Library. A second book can be chosen from the (DCF) Book Award List. Please visit http://libraries.vermont.gov/libraries/cbec/dcf for more information about the books, including recommended ages and descriptions. A letter with further explanation of our required reading will be also be sent to your homes.
Our current students have received an intervention letter from math department with information about this summer. We recommend that all incoming sixth graders spend about 20 minutes 2-3 times per week on skills, which can be done by accessing on line web sites such as Khan Academy, Grand Prix Raceway at http://www.mathplayground.com/ASB_GrandPrixMultiplication.html, or any sites you find that pique your interest. Another option is grade level math practice books that can be picked up at bookstores. I have used both McGraw Hill and Spectrum. Practice will make a difference!

End of the year details

Greetings House A Students and Families,

It's hard to believe that the end of the school year is this week.  We have come a long way since we started this journey together back in September!  Here are some important end of the year details for students and their families.  If you have any questions, please contact one of the team teachers.

Monday (6/9)= Students will walk to Duke's during the school day (weather permitting) to cool off with an ice cream.  If possible, please give your son or daughter a few extra dollars for an ice cream of their choosing.

Tuesday (6/10)= Students will sell their marketplace goods and services at the MMS cafeteria from 12:30-2:00.  Bring your wallet to buy the wonderful items our have entrepreneurs been working hard to sell.

Wednesday (6/11)=last day of school for 8th graders!  We will have a field day (rain or shine-please dress for the weather) and Bar BQ at Bombardier Park 12:00-2:00.  More details to follow.  That evening, the grade celebration will occur at MHS Gymnasium from 6:30pm -8:00.  The 8th grade dance will follow after the celebration in the MHS cafeteria and end near 9:30pm.

Thursday (6/12)= Half day for 6th and 7th graders.  Students will be dismissed at 11:00 am.  I think
that lunch will be provided but am not sure.  I will get back to you for sure!

Other info= 8th graders have their list of summer reading for the high school.  We recommend that they start their readings early!  The final T3 Report cards will be sent home during the week of June 16th-20th.
