Celebration!
Congratulations to the incoming class of 2017! House A teachers would like to thank the students on our team for their hard work and pereverence this year. We hope you had a pleasant and engaging experience with us. We would also like to thank parents/guardians for their ongoing support. We hope you and your families enjoy the summer. We look forward to our students' continued growth as they progress along in their academic careers. Be safe, dream big, believe in yourselves, work hard and achieve your dreams. 8th Graders should be at the HIGH SCHOOL, in the cafeteria at 6:15 to line up, guests should find seats in the gym.

on Wednesday, June 12 –
We will leave school and walk to the park at 11:30 a.m. (after lunch).
We will be leaving the park to walk back to school at 2 p.m. – in time for dismissal.
Please have your student bring comfortable/athletic shoes, and pack water bottles and sunscreen!
*****If you do not want your student to participate in this curriculum-based activity, you must send in a note to his/her Advisory teacher. Please note that if your student does not attend the Field Day, he/she should not attend school during that time.

Power School has been upgraded for both 7th & 8th grade. We do have full classes both Monday and Tuesday so students can still do corrections and continue work.
Also a reminder we are headed to Bombardier on Wednesday afternoon.

Students had an assessment and have them back. PowerSchool will be upgraded this weekend.
Grade 7
An assessment on Moving Straight Ahead including solving equations and slope in the form of rise/run were included was given this week. All of them will have it back Monday.
They were asked to submit: Combining Signed Numbers-Notes, Vocabulary-Linear Relationships,
pages 52&53 with labsheet (coins & pouche as equations), page 58-59 #10-16, page 74-Labsheet 4.2

Science FYI
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Students received back an "Acceleration" exit card quiz from me today. They can and should see me to make corrections on it! Students should also make corrections on their Rainy Day Morning Inquiry assessment. To date, I've only seen a handful of corrections/retests. If your son or daughter is saying that they don't have homework, that is something that they can do.
My deadline for accepting student work is Wednesday, June 12th. If you have any questions about how your son or daughter is doing or if they owe work in science class, please check powerschool or email me at rdecicco@mtsd-vt.org. Unfortunately, I'm only available to meet with students during lunch and afterschool. They may have to make arrangements with you/take the late bus in order to meet with me. I'm encouraging all students to finish off the school year in a strong fashion. Doing a little bit of work now will go a long way! Thanks for your support!

We started our assessment today and will have other class time to complete it. Flexibiltiy is needed to assure students in drama to have time for the arts and academics as well as make sure we are finished by Friday so we all can attend the play.

Seventh grade families as I went to upgrade PowerSchool this weekend I found the reporting of the local common assessment for Accentuate the Negative and the work checked at that time had not been entered, my apologies around this. There are students who are still struggling with these standards and would be wise to persevere as they are used extensively in future classes especially math and science. Corrections and work not submitted can still be done. After school math on Wednesday is still happening this week, I am in enrichment 2 of every three days, and would be happy to have lunch with them if we schedule it. If there are any 1s in your student's information please encourage them to continue to work on those standards.
In Power School you will also find the information around the first assessment in Moving Straight Ahead where we worked with many stories to support linear relationships in tables, graphs, and equations. We are currently working on solving equations and slope.
