math

It has been a busy week.  We have started working on fraction skills in all grades throughout MMS. The pre-assessment was administered this past week.

When we return :
6th grade will be continuing work with ratios, rates and unit rates.
7th will be continuing with proportionality as it is related to scale.
8th will be continuing with transformations, movements in a plane, and rigid motion, the measurements that preserve the move, and specifically the relationship to reflections.

Student Conferences

Thank you, students and families, for the thoughtful conversations during this round of conferences!  We are proud to see many students raising their voice and taking greater ownership of their learning.  We hope this is empowering to our learners and want to keep the dialogue ongoing.  Thank you for your partnership.

If families did not get a chance to talk with a teacher directly and would like to follow up, please contact that teacher.  We want to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak with all teachers.

A couple of things

1) Students have been working on their Ecosystem project for close to one week.  Projects should be completed and ready to share at the start of class tomorrow.  A project checklist can be found on their science google classroom or by clicking this link

2) Students also received back their Fish Kill Public Service Announcement reflections in class today.  We discussed how the projects were graded and what that means for the T1 Report Card.  All students are encouraged to make corrections on this assignment.  In Science, all graded work can be corrected to improve student learning.

All grades have a PLP template for a math reflection in Google Classroom in the Odyssey Project folder.  This was started last Thursday and they were given time in class today. They should complete it if they are not finished.
