Team Updates

Dear Odyssey Families,

Well, we made it!  This is the last week of school and there are many exciting things happening this week.

  • Thank you to all the families and students who contributed to make our marketplace  a successful event!
  • On Tuesday, June 13th from 6:00-7:30pm, students will display their Odyssey Projects.  Over the past few months, students were given an hour each week to research and investigate a topic of personal interest.  Students created video games, learned new languages, created works of art, choreographed dances, worked to preserve natural resources in our wonderful community and so much more. Please join us in a celebration of our student learning.  As William Butler Yeats is quoted as saying, “education is not the filling of the pail, but a lighting of a fire.”  Come see what our students are passionate about. On this same night, some students will also receive end of the trimester and end of the year awards. The night will begin with dessert, appetizers mingling, followed by awards and will finish with a rotation of presentations in all four classrooms.
We are hoping that parents and students can find time in their busy schedules to contribute a baked good or appetizers to share.  Please RSVP to your student's advisor.  If you are able to bring in something to share, you can also let the advisor know, or send a quick note to sendres@mymysd-vt.org. Or  use this link to sign up to bring something in.
  • 8th Grade celebration will happen on the night of Wednesday, June 14th.  Students are expected to be at the high school by 5:30 to assemble and get ready to enter the auditorium by 6:00pm.  The 8th grade celebration will happen from 6:00pm to roughly 7:30pm.  There will be a dance for 8th graders until 9:30. This is also the last day of school for 8th graders.

  • 6th & 7th grade Students’ last day is on Thursday, June 15th.  It is a ½ day and students will be dismissed after lunch.  Dismissal will be at 10:30 after an early lunch.  Please plan accordingly.
  • On behalf of the Team Odyssey teachers, we’d like to thank all the families and students who contributed big and small this year to make our year wonderful!  We’d like to wish our 8th graders best wishes as they continue along to high school!
