Science 7/8
Just a friendly reminder that students should:
1) complete a written reflection on an assessment of their choosing (scuba diver, heating and cooling gases lab, mid summarize 3, OR midsummative 4.)
2) have created a goal that will improve their performance in science class (academic or behavioral.)
Whether or not you are attending student conferences, I encourage all students to share these 2 items with their parents/guardians and parents/guardians should ask their son or daughter about them.if you have any questions, please contact me at rdecicco@mtsd-vt.org

Science 7/8
Today, students started writing reflections on an assessment of their choosing (heating and cooling gases lab, scuba diver density test, midsummative 3 quiz OR midsummative 4) for their portfolio. They should finish the reflection for homework if they didn't complete it in class. Students will present this reflection as one of their science pieces at the upcoming student conferences!

Math
Grade 8
We refreshed our memories by adding two vocablulary pieces:
Pythagorean Theorem, and "squares" for both the shape and the exponential
and reviewed: irrational number and square root, examples from the work they have done should be added.
Tests were returned for and corrections are expected by Friday as the trimester closes on Monday.
Grade 7
We refreshed our memories by adding examples from work which has been assigned for ratio, unit rate, and proportions which can also be thought of as equivalent fractions.
Tests were returned and corrections are expected by Friday.

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful, restful break!
1) The Trimester ends on Monday, 3/11. With that in mind, it was explained to students how their grades will be determined in science for T2. Many students are missing assignments and have only 4 days to hand them in. If you have any questions, please check PowerSchool or email me at rdecicco@mtsd-vt.org. Even if students have handed in all assignments, they could make corrections and improve upon them. The assignments that will appear on the report card are a) Heating and Cooling Gases Lab, b) Scuba Diver Test, c) Midsummative 3 and d) Midsummative 4.
2) Students have a quiz tomorrow (Midsummative 4) and should review recent material for it.
